About Ava *On Trial in Her New Home*
*AVA IS CURRENTLY TRIALING HER NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* Adorable Ava is a healthy, happy puppy who was born on 16 April 2017. Her mum is a Husky cross while her father is a purebred Border Collie. She’s a gentle-natured soul who lives to be cuddled and would love a home where her humans were around a lot as although she’s good with other dogs its human companionship she thrives on – if Ava could be a lapdog, albeit a slightly larger one, then her life would be complete!
Ava is a sweet pup who can be a bit timid of the world when outside her yard so some patience and reassurance will be needed when teaching her to walk on a lead. She gets along well with her foster carers own little dogs although they get a bit tired of Ava wanting to round them up – it must be the Border Collie in her! She’s even good with the household cats trying, without much success, to round them up too! This clever pup taught herself to sit and does so at every opportunity making it hard for us to get a photo of her standing – she especially likes to sit on your foot so she knows your close.
Lovable Ava is described as a bit of an introvert by her foster carer as she’s not an overly rambunctious, energetic, in-your face puppy – she’s more of a quiet achiever who rarely barks.
Ava rarely jumps up either making her good around children though being the little petal that she is a home with less boisterous kids would be much better suited to her soft personality.
Enjoy some video of Ava: https://youtu.be/JtHn1OdSWBg
As you can see in her video Ava’s not that interested in toys, it’s all about the person who is throwing them though given time we’re sure she could be enticed into a game of tug-o-war or even taught to fetch a ball.
Ava loves spending time indoors as humans are her thing and a cuddle on the couch for this snuggle-bunny is just the best! While in foster care she has gotten the hang of toilet-training, so we’d love to see this indoor / outdoor lifestyle continue in her forever home. She is also crate-trained and happily goes in there at bedtime (whether her crate is outside or inside), or at any time during the day when she’s feeling a little sleepy or just needs some timeout.
Being a young pup Ava will require ongoing obedience training as well as socialisation with other dogs so she grows up to have lovely manners. Daily walks, secure fencing, bones to chew on and a human which she can adore will make Ava very happy indeed!!
If you’ve got the time, patience and love required to continue bringing up Ava then please download and complete a SARG Dog Application form by following this link: http://www.sarg.net.au/adopt-a-pet/

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
