Noah*** nope, not related to a fox

Noah is an 18 month old Kelpie cross that lives his life with unbridled enthusiasm. His happiness is infectious. You don't have to do much to make his tail wag one hundred miles a minute and get him excited. He is smaller than your average Kelpie but has a big personality to make up for his small stature.

Noah is your typical Kelpie - energetic, intelligent and keen to please. He is so sight focused, always watching people and basically anything that moves. He requires a large yard and daily walks/runs to burn his energy. He'd love a medium to large doggie playmate who could match his energy and enjoys a wrestle and rough play. He has not been tested with cats.

He is funny in that he mentally wears himself out so quickly from watching everything around him that once he sits down he is asleep in 2 minutes flat. He loves human interaction and will happily sit with you and fall asleep with belly scratches.

He hadn't had any training in his previous life however he is highly intelligent and has a good memory. He walks well on a short leash. He knows the sit command and the wait command (waits for food, waits in his crate with door open and waits at the back door before being invited in with 'come'). We are working on him jumping up when excited however this has lessened considerably. I took him to an agility course and he was a natural on the ramps. His new owner must be a confident leader. If you put in the time he will be the most well behaved little man.

Noah enjoys meeting other friendly dogs (big and small) and will pull you over for a sniff. He doesn't have the greatest doggie manners, possibly due to lack of socialisation and will approach face first with strong eye contact which can put some dogs off. If there is a dog in close proximity that he can't reach he can get over excited. If they bark at him he will bark back and he can get cranky. With continued socialisation and training these issues should cease.

He currently sleeps both inside and outside and doesn't mind either. He's very affectionate and is most happy to be where his people are so expect him to want to come inside if that's where you are. His toilet training is half way there at the moment (never any accidents inside but does not go on command when let out) and he does hold on overnight.

Noah is currently being fostered as an only dog, and is happy to stay so provided he gets stimulation and exercise.

Noah is not suitable to be homed with a dominant dog.

He is not suited to a home with young children.
