About Ava
Beautiful Ava came into care having been diagnosed with a condition called Megaesophagus, where the normal function of the esophagus to push food down fails to do so correctly. At meal time we ensure all of Ava's meals consist of wet food or blended soaked biscuits, and have placed each meal at a height above chest level so that her head remains elevated; by doing this we have seen no issues so far with feeding, however her new owner will need to be prepared to deal with any possible issues and keep an eye on her during meal times. Ava will require a couple of extra visits to the vet each year to monitor her condition, however aside from this she is a normal, happy, loving dog.
Ava has lived with children of all ages, other dogs, and since coming into foster care has been introduced to many cats too! She gets along with all brilliantly. She is playful and sweet and loves to cuddle. She will be an amazing addition to any family.
