About Oscar ************* assisted rehome
Oscar is a gorgeous 3 year old mix breed. Originally he was thought to be staffy x terrier but
as you can see by his photos he is much larger than both those breeds so not really sure
what he is. Oscar is a very smart boy and can learn new thigs extremely quick, especially if
there are liver treats involved. But if you give him enough praise and he can see he has
pleased you then he will do it without a treat as well. He loves to play and run around and
has a favourite toy he entertains himself with by throwing it up and catching it but he is
happiest playing tug of war with his human. He is used to being on his own during the day
but it is very lonely for him so another gentle natured doggy friend to play with would be nice.
He does like children but can get a little over excited when he sees them so considering his
size he would be better suited to older children he can run and play with and not knock over
with his excitement. He likes to be involved in whatever his human is doing, even if that
means just sitting at your feet while you get dinner ready or watching TV, just so long as he
is near you he is happy. He loves a walk and a run at the park and a bit of a play with the
other dogs but still prefers to stick more with his human, and at the end of his day he likes to
curl up on his human’s bed to sleep. Oscar is very well mannered and will sit for anything he
wants and wait patiently till he gets it. He also knows to drop, stay, wait, roll over, sleep,
come, leave it and numerous other commands. He is easily walked on a lead and off lead
at a park or in the country and will come back when called, but he never strays too far away.
He also loves water, playing under the hose is his favourite on a hot day or running through
a creek. Oscar is more of an inside dog, he accepts staying outside when you are at work
but will expect to be inside with you as soon as you get home. He is completely house
trained and will let you know when he needs to go outside. He has not been around cats so
it could prove to be a challenge. Oscar is a beautiful natured boy and everyone who meets
him loves him and I am sure you will fall under his spell too. He may take a little bit of
adjusting to his new environment at first but if you show him love you will be sure to win him
over in no time and have just as much love returned back to you.
