About Jack & Lucky Kingston
As Jack's physical health has deteriorated he is now going into permanent care and his friend Lucky will stay with him.
Meet Jack and Lucky. They are both 13 year old Kelpies - beautiful dogs who are very bonded. All they want is to just find a special home where they can rest and spend their time together.
Lucky is more outgoing than Jack and if often wagging his tail and happy. Like Jack, he enjoys a slower paced lifestyle, and loves the simple things in life, like being able to lie by the heater on cool nights. He’s also not afraid of asking for a cuddle or two!
Once Jack warms up to you, he loves pats and will greet you when you get home. He is a gentle soul and a bit slow in his older age, but still has plenty of love to give once he knows he can trust you. Jack likes to know that Lucky is nearby, and vice versa.
Jack and Lucky are house trained. Both have very sweet, loving, and calm temperaments, and are well socialised around other like-minded dogs. Both dogs are affectionate by nature and crave a bit of attention. They love to be together but are also independent and happy to do their own thing from time to time.
Due to their gentle personalities, as well as their low exercise needs, Jack and Lucky would be perfect for a couple or an older person where they can enjoy their golden years of retirement in a quiet, loving environment.

All dogs that come into the care of Victorian Dog Rescue are tested for heart worm.
Victorian Dog Rescue has a six-week full refund policy and a lifetime takeback guarantee that includes 50 per cent of the adoption fee refunded.

Lucky has a little arthritis in his back legs. Jack has also started on arthritis medication and pain medication for his rear.
Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee, and of course an invitation to our adopters’ Christmas party.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

Unfortunately we usually will not have time to reply to enquiries in more detail and will give priority to completed applications over enquiries. Priority will also be given to typed applications which are easier for us to read and to copy relevant parts.
