Squeak

Squeak…a teddy bear in a dog suit….

Squeak is a sweet, fluffy, gentle young man with an old soul and a new life ahead of him. It seems he hasn’t had much human affection in his short life so when a cuddle, belly rub or couch lap is on offer, he is in for as long as you are!

He is always interested in being with you, following you around the house or yard and makes a great companion. If you’ve been out for a while Squeak will happy dance and body wiggle his excitement to see you again.

In his brief time in care Squeak has shown he has incredibly good manners and is quick to learn. He is house trained, has learnt to sit, wait and walks like a champ on lead. His mouth is incredibly gentle when taking food and he travels well in the car.

Squeak shares house with 2 dogs and 3 cats. He has perfect dog manners and has bonded well with our crew - playing, dining and walking with them very well. He is curious about the cats but has shown no aggression at all, sleeping with them and generally giving them a sniff and a lick.

Squeak is so chilled and happy we often forget that he is just 10mths old and is really an untrained pup. Occasionally he will pick up a cushion or shoe but he is easily redirected to an allowed soft toy (and dissects it!). It appears he’s had harsh corrections before and initially would cower to a firm voice but he is gaining trust and confidence and will continue to do so with gentle encouragement in his training. He really is a beautiful, responsive dog, who sometimes behaves like the young kid he is.

We believe Squeak would love to have a sister or brother dog. He loves their company, plays beautifully and he seems to learn from them. Having said that, to be the centre of attention would suit him well too. He spends many hours inside unsupervised (with a few toys and food games) and sleeps inside without a peep all night. Like all dogs, Squeak really just wants to be a part of the family.

If you’re hoping to find a good mate and loyal friend and you’re willing to encourage his training, Squeak could be your guy. It’ll be hard to not to fall for him…

This very special kid will only be available to the most loving of homes. Squeak has had a rough start, and as such deserves the brightest future.
