About Cuddly Kobie
Most people see a young, healthy terrier and think of an active play mate, but we're asking you to clear your mind of what you'd expect from a 3 year old terrier and imagine a couch potato, a snuggly buddy and a little dude who just wants to hang out at home because that's what Kobie is like.
Kobie was surrendered as a Chihuahua x Fox Terrier however weighing in around 7kgs, we don’t see much Chihuahua in him! What we do see is his friendly amd sweet nature, a sense of curiosity, never ending loyalty and your best mate.
One of Kobie's most endearing habits is carrying his pillow around the house looking for a sunny spot to snooze. He loves his soft toys and you'll often see him taking a fluffy toy around the house with him.
However Kobie suffered a trauma earlier this year and now he needs a very special home. Kobie is anxious in new and unfamiliar environments and he thrives with stability and the familiar. The right home for Kobie is one where his homebody nature will be embraced, without continually placing him in situations that stress him.
This need for stability and to not be forced into anxiety-inducing situations is really key for Kobies well being. He is not a dog who enjoys daily walks, dog parks and beach trips. When Kobie is placed in these situations, he becomes very frightened and reactive. He is not aggressive but becomes noisy and distressed. We will provide strong support and follow up from our dog trainer and a key part of Kobies adoption will be placing him in a home that understands his anxiety and will work closely with him to protect him from it escalating.
We’ve learnt that Kobie likes to chase cats and is completely obsessive about birds and pocket pets, so it’s in everyone’s best interest that he finds a forever home where there are no resident kitties, birds, chooks, guinea pigs or rodents. We also would prefer Kobie to go to a home with no other dogs as he is happiest as your main man!
Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside, Jindalee, Browns Plains or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heartworm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
