About Elsie - Free to Adopt!
On these chilly Winter nights I bet you are just sitting around thinking "gee, I wish my lap was warmer." Well, we have the perfect solution for you and her name is Elsie.
This darling little old lady somehow found herself stray and living on the streets until a kind person started feeding her and gained her trust enough to catch her and take her to a vet clinic for help.
Elsie is a sweet, affectionate girl who is quite content to do her own thing most of the time and doesn't demand much from her family. She just wants somewhere warm and comfy to live out her golden years, with lots of pats and a regular food supply (though she doesn't eat much!)
Elsie has a bit of arthritis in her back legs, which means she isn't particularly mobile and doesn't jump much, so you don't have to worry about finding her on your kitchen benches or scratching your couches or anything. She needed to have her teeth cleaned and a few extracted so she has lovely pearly whites now. The last thing to know about Elsie is that she has two noticeably differently coloured eyeballs. It is quite stunning, but vets are concerned that her right eye is not 100% healthy. We discussed removing it but at this stage it causes her no concern and does still have vision so we don't want to put an old girl through such a large surgery if it is not necessary.
Elsie is a sweetheart looking for a saviour. She is no spring chicken and although she is in good health for an older kitty, her new family of course needs to know she won't be with them forever. If you are in a position to offer an old cat another chance and truly save a life, then Elsie is the one for you.
She is not real keen on other cats getting in her face, but another mature cat or one who will respect her personal space would be fine. She may also get on with a calm, cat-social dog.
Please make a time to meet this sweetie today.
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
