About Wonderful Whizz
We're off to meet the Whizz, the wonderful Whizz of.... Northam.
If you keep reading, you will find the letter that Whizz wrote for her potential adopters a couple of months ago. Since that time she has continued to thrive and improve in foster care and is an even more delightful little girl - she gets better every day! Whizz is still a shy kitty and still needs time, patience, love and understanding but she is more playful and affectionate than ever.
If you've been wandering your own yellow brick road in search of the perfect family member, your journey is over - here is Whizz!
Dear adopters,
Hi, my name is Whizz. My foster mum told me that I should tell you all something about myself so you can decide if you can offer me a home. But I'm kind of shy and don't like public speaking, so I'm writing you a letter instead. (I have heard that most people fear public speaking even more than death so, you know, maybe we have that in common with each other and we can hide under the blankets together?)
I'm a really sweet, gentle, soft-natured girl who needs a person that is kind, caring, understanding and patient. I am so very desperate to find a home all of my own where I can be loved and treasured and if you just give me some time I promise I will become your most loyal and loving confidant and friend.
My life didn't get off to a very good start because I was born on a farm where there were lots of other cats and none of us were getting cared for properly. We were sick, skinny and riddled with fleas and worms. I was SO very frightened when I first came into foster care and my foster mum couldn't even touch me, I ran away and hid under the bedding. I was scared of being hurt. But slowly over the past few months I have started to understand that people can be kind.
My foster mum thought she would never be able to touch me and has been really amazed at how much progress I've made. I actually lean into her pats now and have started enjoying human contact and touch. I am still shy but not as flighty as I was. My new family definitely needs to have time and patience to invest in me because my first reaction to a scary situation is definitely to hide away so you will need to slowly and gently force me out of my comfort zone so I learn that you can be trusted. I WANT to be your friend, it will just take time.
I am a pretty little girl, beautiful inside and out. I am also still very small and will be a petite little cat forever. I get on well with other cats so a friendly, social kitty (who won't pick on me or boss me around) would be fine - or I can be on my own.
I know I'm not the right fit for everyone, but I hope I'm perfect for you.
Thanks for reading!
Lots of love,
Whizz
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
