About Cusha (AV966)
Sweet, placid and loving is about the best way to sum up sweet Cusha - that, and resilient!
This beautiful girl was surrendered through no fault of her own, after her human family had a relationship breakdown and no one wanted her, or her mum and dad who were also surrendered. This was sad enough for Cusha but then we discovered that she was 5 weeks pregnant and, worst of all, her own father was the father of her pups! Our hearts just broke for this poor young girl.
Luckily Cusha found a wonderful home where she was going to be able to have her pups in peace but two weeks later tragedy struck and she became very ill, ultimately losing all 8 of her pups in premature labour. We can only assume that the stress and trauma of losing her home and family contributed to this sad situation.
So Cusha has had a chance to relax and recover from her ordeal and is now finally ready to find a forever home all of her own where she will be truly treasured and her sweet nature will be appreciated and nurtured.
Cusha is a big girl but she doesn't seem to know it, and will even try to climb onto your lap for a cuddle! She's like a big marshmallow and just wants cuddles and love. Cusha is loyal and attentive and likes to follow her people around - in foster care she has had the chance to go to work with her carer sometimes and she loves this so we would love to find her a new family which includes someone who works from home/in the home, someone semi-retired perhaps or someone who can sometimes take her to work. She isn't destructive when left alone, she just loves company.
Cusha has been working on her lead manners in care and walks very well. She seems to be social with most dogs she meets although sometimes other dogs scare her a little so she would need a nice slow introduction if there is already a dog in your home; if she likes your dog though she will really like your dog! Cusha has grown up with and loves children but cannot live with small animals e.g cats, very tiny dogs, chickens, ducks etc.
Who ever takes Cusha into their life will get a real treat so get in touch today to offer this sweetheart a loving home.
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
