About Dash
Dash is a young greyhound x border collie who has been rescued from a life on a chain. She is lucky she was found at such a young age and she seems to have forgotten her abusive past.
Dash lives in foster care with a staghound x female and she is getting along very well with her. She is great with small dogs too and seems to understand they are much smaller and doesn’t play as rough as she does with the big ones.
She has also been great with every other dog she has met on her daily walks.
Dash has met a bunch of kids too and has been good with them. She has played with kids under 12 in the backyard off leash and has been super friendly and gentle with them.
She still needs to learn not to jump on people when she is excited but she is learning quickly not to do it.
Dash is great at night. She sleeps in the lounge room with her foster sister and never sooks and just sleeps throughout the night.
She is not food or toy possessive and she hardly barks, only when she’s playing. She is not a fussy eater.
Being a greyhound x border collie (and just a young puppy too) she has a bit of energy to burn and can pull on lead. But she is working on her leash manners and is getting better every day.
We have not tested Dash with cats but don't think she can live in a home with a cat. She has not paid much attention to cats on her walks but we still think she would be best kept away from cats and other small animals.
Dash would love a home with another dog for company though. She loves people and just wants to be as close as she possibly can, even if that means sitting on you. She loves to lick you if you let her.
Dash loves to just follow you around and know exactly what you’re doing. She does a very cute dance on the spot when she gets excited.
She doesn’t seem to mind thunder but does get a little frightened if we make a sudden loud noise.
Dash loves to run! Especially when she has travelled with her foster family to Horsham where the dogs can really run around freely. A home with a bit of a garden to run around would be ideal for Dash although she is also great off leash and could go to off leash parks and areas.
As much as she loves to run, she also loves to sleep. She travels in the car really well.
Dash has this quirky habit of collecting things from around the house (especially her foster mum's slippers) but doesn’t destroy them. She just puts all her treasures in one place.
She is okay to be left home alone with her foster sister when her foster parents leave all day for work but she is of course super excited and happy when they return home.
Over all Dash is a really sweet and loving girl who just wants love and attention back. She is a great companion and family dog.
We strongly prefer a home with another dog for Dash and she really loves canine company when her human parents leave for work.
