About Diego ~ 5mo German Shepherd x Lab (Trial 15/9/17)
Hi there! Meet Diego, he is a 5 month old German Shepherd x Labrador boy. He is an affectionate, energetic, playful and slightly timid little man.
Diego is great with other dogs and children. He loves to have a run around with his foster brothers and sister but also loves to curl up and have a snuggle and smooch. He is predominately black in colouring with a few white spots and seems to present with more of the Labrador features.
He is toilet trained and his manners training is coming along but will need some further training once he finds his forever family. He can use a dog door and comes and goes as he pleases. Diego will grow up to be a medium to large size dog.
Diego is an inside dog and likes to sleep close to you of a night time. Currently he sleeps on the foot of his foster Mum and Dad’s bed, but next to you on his own bed will be fine.
Diego would be best suited to a family who has another dog as a play mate and although he is good with children he does like to jump (being a puppy, we are working on that) so a family with older children would be best.
He will need a yard to run around in to burn off all that puppy and German Shepherd energy so please do not apply if you cannot provide that for Mr Diego. He will also require 6ft fencing to keep him nice and safe and secure as he is an adventurous puppy.
If you think you can provide Diego with the perfect forever home or have some questions please feel free to contact his foster mum, Lauren, on 0427 855 275. Diego is in care in the Newcastle area, NSW.
Diego's adoption fee is $600 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and he's been treated for fleas and worms. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Medical notes
As Diego is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's approximately 6 months old.
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
