About Villandra (Adoption in Progress)
Please note: Villandra and Lincoln get along well and would make a great pair for a family. Or alternatively Villandra would adjust well to a home with another dog for company.
Villi has not had the best start in life but is now a healthy young lady ready to be the first four legged socialite to explore everything Victoria has to offer. She loves travelling by car but also enjoys her walks and shakes with excitement when her harness comes out. Villi walks well on the lead even sits for it to be put on and is learning that meeting new doggy friends and discovering new smells is a great pastime when you have a buddy to share it with.
Sometimes a little intimidated by the bigger dogs around she is happy amongst them when they are calm and gains confidence from her well socialised foster brother whom she looks to for reassurance. Villi would benefit from having another dog around the house, and although she is small, she is feisty, and loves to play rough with male doggy friends.
Villi is also very enamoured with the cat members of her current foster family, and would love to have a cat buddy who understands doggie play.
Villi had demodectic mange when she came to VicDRG as a young puppy. This has now healed, but she still has bald legs, and very thin hair. Hopefully with time this will grow back, but this makes her a little more susceptible to the cold. Especially on walks in winter!
Villi's other love are the two legged members of the family and she spends evenings curled up with one or other sharing her affection equally. She is crate trained, clean in the house, knows sit and will go to her bed when requested. Villi loves a paddle in her pool and a carrot as a treat but particularly enjoys snuggling up under the covers with her humans if she's allowed. But beware she does snore!
Please note: our dogs are not available for interstate adoption. We also do not adopt to people under the age of 25 years.

All dogs that come into the care of Victorian Dog Rescue are tested for heart worm.

Medical notes
Villandra has been successfully treated for demodex mange. Whilst over time her missing hair will continue to regrow she is now a healthy, happy little girl.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee, and of course an invitation to our adopters’ Christmas party.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

Unfortunately we usually will not have time to reply to enquiries in more detail and will give priority to completed applications over enquiries. Priority will also be given to typed applications which are easier for us to read and to copy relevant parts.
