About Charlie
Charlie is one of the sweetest little boys you'll meet. He is a healthy, handsome, very active Kelpie/hunting dog mix and is definitely a favourite among guests. He is quite outgoing, loves to meet new people and loves cuddles.
Charlie's litter was raised in foster care and the puppies have been very well socialised with people, dogs, and children. They currently live with 4 adult dogs who are helping their mother to teach them boundaries and social skills. He likes to roll around with his mother and siblings, or play a game of tug.
Charlie also LOVES other dogs and so a patient, desexed and well-rounded adult dog, with equal activity levels, in his new home is a MUST. The dogs in his foster home all have varying tolerance levels for his puppy antics, however he takes cues from them extremely well, backing off when told to. Having an older dog in his new home will help him to settle and provide him with some company while you are out.
Charlie has been exposed to sheep and he and his siblings now comfortably live with an orphan lamb. However, Charlie was quite interested in chasing them during his first few meetings. If he were to have unsupervised access to sheep at his new home, working on his impulse control in this area will be essential.
Charlie can be easily distracted as he wants to be everywhere and with everyone all at the same time, so he will benefit greatly from going to regular puppy/obedience classes with his new owners to help him grow into happy, well-balanced, socialised and obedient adult dog. He will also require a family with an active lifestyle who can provide enough daily physical and mental exercise to ensure he doesn't become frustrated and/or destructive.
If you would like to learn more about Charlie, we would love to hear from you and what you believe you can offer our little boy.
Charlie is located in Ballarat.
** Puppies are always highly sought after, so please be patient while we work our way through enquiries as quickly as we can.
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
