About Zahlie the Bulldog
Are you looking for an older companion?
💕 ZAHLIE 🐶 8YO AUSSIE BULLDOG
📍 Newcastle, NSW
MBRC saved Zahlie from a country NSW pound a couple of weeks ago. Being able to do this re-confirms why we do what we do. An older bulldog deserves a nice soft bed and loving family in her twilight years. Special thanks to CrossBones Couture for donating a stylin' collar and lead for beautiful Zahlie.
Zahlie is best described as gentle and sweet, and will be the ultimate companion for someone lucky enough to adopt her. From what we know she has had a fairly hard life, but a big pile of soft blankets and spending all her time with her human is what Zahlie craves.
Zahlie will be suited to a new home where the humans are retired, or work from home. She's one of those dogs you will want to have with you 24/7 and will sit on the lounge patting for hours and hours. Zahlie loves car rides and walks nicely on the lead. She is crate trained and will happily snuggle in her blankets in a large crate if her humans have to go somewhere she can't go too.
Previous experience with bulldogs isn't essential with Zahlie as she's really easy going provided you are home more often than not. A secure fenced yard is essential at her foster home as well as spending time inside with you both when you are & aren't home.
We were told Zahlie is good with other dogs, but our observations have been that she prefers people to dogs and will be happiest as the centre of attention. Zahlie is getting on and we can understand she would prefer to have her humans to herself. Zahlie hasn't been tested with cats, but we're thinking she may not be a fan.
Zahlie's previous family had kids and we think if her new family had kids or grandkids around she would enjoy their company provided they are dog-friendly kids.
A major perk of fostering is the first option to adopt Zahlie if you fall totally in love with her. If you had been thinking about adopting but aren't 100% sure, then please consider becoming a foster carer. It's an incredibly rewarding experience and is such an important part of how we are able to help all the bulldogs we do.
If you are located within a couple of hours drive of the Newcastle (NSW) and would like to foster or adopt Zahlie please send the #bullycrew at Mini's Bulldog Rescue Club a message and submit an application https://www.minisbulldogrescue.com/apply

Applicants will be assessed in terms of best suitability for the dog. A meet & greet and yard inspection are essential parts of the screening process.
The first 2 weeks for every adoption is a trial period to ensure that both the dog and family are a good match. And once everyone is happy the dog's microchip will be changed across to the new family.
