Wilson

There isn't a mean or gruff bone is Wilson's handsome body. He has the sweetest, most endearing nature. Loyal, affectionate, energetic, super smart and hilarious!

Wilson loves having canine friends and it is important he has a doggy pal in his new home. He is very friendly and submissive with other dogs but also thoroughly enjoys a good rough and tumble play. Being young and still learning all about this crazy life ride, Wilson would most benefit from a mature pooch who is relaxed, sensible and happy to have a play mate.

As cattle dogs are the smartest dogs getting around, they need mental stimulation as much as or more than exercise to be happy and to keep you happy.
Wilson will need more than the average backyard home. He loves the land. Ute rides, dams to swim in and space to romp is his dream home. He longs to have a job and to be challenged daily to keep his brain ticking. There will be no end to the tricks you could teach this fella and to keep him happy and content, his new family must be prepared to put in the effort to train and teach him. You'll get just as much satisfaction from teaching as Wilson will from learning! His basic obedience is getting better every day. He sits on command brilliantly and whilst he can get distracted, his recall is getting very good, he will bolt to you and sit at your feet when called.

Wilson is in foster care with kids, cats, chooks, cows, sheep and horses.
He will nap in the sun whilst the chooks peck around next to him and he'll lie calmly as the cats wander by. The pet sheep laughs at him when he tries to round him up so he gives up the game. He certainly doesn't want to hurt anything, however if the chooks flutter and run or the not friendly sheep bolt and the calf runs playfully by, he will chase them. Not the horses though! They're a bit big and intimidating!
Herding is a natural instinct so of course Wilson will see it as a game. However, given his gentle nature and intelligence with sone dedication to exposure, positive training and redirecting him to what games he can play, Wilson can live in harmony with other animals.

Kids are so much fun for Wilson! They love to play fetch and are happy for him to go on all their adventures. Sometimes it's all so exciting, Wilson will jump for joy and he could knock small kids over. He can live with them, there will just need to be an extra element to training him and the kids to respect each others space and play calmly and gentle.
