About Mars
Mars is so sweet. She is really interested in everything that's going on. She is really easy to care for too. Being a smart little thing she got the lie of the land really quickly and has just fallen nicely into the daily routine. She loves playing with her litter-mates, but also plays with the big dogs. Little Mars has been around kids a lot in her first couple of months of life. Her crew are very well socialised. She loves to snuggle on a lap and already sits nicely for a pat and comes when she is called. Mars is a bit different from her brothers and sisters because she has a long body and short legs. We don't think she will end up as a very big dog at all. She is 3.8 kg at 14 weeks, so calculating her adult weight at double that plus 1/2 her original weight she is likely to be just under 10 kg.
She and her brothers and sisters were surrendered to the local vet when her mum was de-sexed on the community de-sexing program in Tennant Creek. While they looked a bit rough when they first arrived, they didn't take long for them to bounce back, and now she is growing well, looks great and is ready for her loving forever home.
Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adopters locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Mars' adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide. She is currently in foster care in Elliott.
