About Nelson
Nelson used to be the shy boy of the litter, but not any more. Now he is the first in line for cuddles and pats and loves to be involved in everything. Whatever you're doing around the place, Nelson is there checking things out!
Nelson was born in Ali Curung in the heart of the dog dreaming country of Central Australia. His mum was being cared for there by some visiting workers, who asked us to take her into care. The puppies were born the night before we arrived and travelled to Tennant Creek with their mum. There they have been cared for on a five acre farmlet on the edge of town. Its been a safe and peaceful environment for them, and it really shows in the pups, who are all absolutely delightful. Mum Xena is a gorgeous gentle natured 15 kg dog who despite being only 10 months old did a great job rearing these guys. She has weaned the pups and is now in foster care herself getting ready to be rehomed. We have included a picture of Neilson' lovely mum.
Nelson is still only a little fella, so he will not be ready to travel for a few more weeks. We would love him to have a great home waiting for him when he is ready.
Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adopters locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Nelson's adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide. He is currently in foster care in Tennant Creek.
