About Sam ~ Border Collie x Kelpie (on trial 4/8/2017)
Meet Sam! He is a 12 month old Border Collie x Kelpie. Even though Sam came into our care from a pound, has already come out of his shell.
Sam is a very friendly dog with all humans but hasn’t had much interaction with children. From his carers observations he should be good with them if properly introduced. Sam likes spending time inside with humans and cuddling but doesn’t mind laying outside in the sun.
Sam’s carer feels he would be suited well for a family with either no dogs or one other dog. He has been living with 2 other dogs of large size but it has been too much for him.
Sam would be a fantastic fit for an older couple but does still need to have exercise. He really loves car rides. Sam’s carer hasn’t seen him trying to jump but he does have the potential to do so due to his breed. Sam is a very clever dog and will find the tiniest gap to squeeze through to go exploring so the backyard and fencing needs to be adequate.
Sam is a very warm, loving and affectionate dog who deserves a lovely forever home.
For more information or to meet Sam, please contact his foster carer Bronwen on 0413 729 229 or email br0nn13@hotmail.com. Sam is in foster care in Rutherford, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Sam's adoption fee is $500 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
