About Cuba
At only 13 kg he's not very big but he has a big personality. Cuba is friendly little boy, both to people and other dogs. He really enjoys his walks and is great off lead. Being an obliging guy he is really good at coming back when he's called. He also walks beautifully on the lead.
Cuba loves playing with the other dogs, and copes with a quite robust game. However if they are not interested he will play with the toys himself. This includes throwing a ball for himself, chasing it and throwing it again. We think this is very clever and resourceful!
He also loves a cuddle and a belly rub. In the evening his favourite spot is to lie on the back of the couch and rest his head on my shoulder. He has learnt that this is the best way to get his pretty soft little face kissed. Cuba is a really happy little dog and is really lovely to have around. He would be a fabulous family dog and a great mate for another playful dog.
Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adopters locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Cuba's adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide.
Cuba is currently in foster care in Adelaide.
Medical notes
Cuba will be wormed and heart-worm treated again just before leaving the Territory. He should be de-wormed fortnightly for another month and have at least 1 further heart-worm treatment after she arrives down south, before reverting to a normal worming regime.
Adoption details
We request that prospective adopters email us with an initial enquiry. We will forward an application form. On receipt of the application form, we will make phone contact to discuss the adoption. We try hard to match the dog to the person, ultimately looking for the best fit for the dog. Shipping fees may or may not be included in the adoption fee, and this will be stated in the pet's profile.
