About Bella
Introducing Bella,
Bella is such a smoochy little sweetheart. She is desperate for close and constant human companionship. She can be a timid at first with new people but will soon settle and show how much she loves everyone.
Bella needs a family who a prepared to continue building her confidence. New places and people can be a little overwhelming but with guidance and reassurance from her carers and the other confident dogs in the home she is willing to take on new things. She can be a little jumpy with loud noises and although she loves kids, she can become overwhelmed by their full-on manner. In saying this, she is in care with a very full on 2 year old and she loves him to bits because she knows he will be gentle and respectful around her.
Bella is currently spending a lot of time indoors and really enjoys being with her family every minute possible. She is crate trained and sleeps inside overnight where she is able to feel safe and secure. She is also very good at toileting outside. She can hold on overnight and will head out as soon as the door is opened for her. She is a very intelligent girl and is already impressing her carers with how quickly she is learning. She knows her name and comes when called, although it is a rare occasion when she is not right by your side or following close by. (On 5 acres, this is impressive)
In her foster home, Bella is living with other dogs and she gets on brilliantly with them. We are not completely sure of Bella's mix of breeds but we assume she will be a larger medium sized dog. She will be looking for a home where she will be offered lots of room to run and be able to stretch her legs as she grows.
Considering she is a little nervous in new situations, the best match will be a young and confident boy who will be happy to share his home with Bella and teach her the fun of taking on new and exciting adventures.
Bella will not be suited to a home as an only dog. To help her continue improving her social skills, she will be happier with a friendly male canine companion. To avoid dominance issues which can occur between 2 females a home with another female dog will not be considered.
Obedience training will also help Bella continue with her socialising skills and help her create a trusting bond with her new family. Knowing that they will make the right decisions to keep her safe when she is unsure will be a huge advantage to her ongoing development.
Regular walks and outings will be a great way for Bella to learn more about the world and all the fun that is out there waiting for her to be a part of.
All puppies have had exposure to chooks/ducks/sheep/lambs/cats and while they are very, very good for puppies, they still need further socialisation experiences and training with these animals to learn not to chase. Although none have chased the chooks at all and have been up very close with them, they do have that innate kelpie/puppy rounding up, chasing instinct when the chooks/ducks flap away.
If you believe you have the wonderful home Bella is waiting for, please contact us and we will be in touch shortly.
Bella is currently in care in Haddon (Ballarat), VIC
.
Medical notes
Bella has been desexed, microchipped and vaccinated. She has also been flead and wormed regularly while she has been in care.
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
