About Gus
Please say hello to Gus!
Gus is an absolute sweetie and a supreme cuddler, always close by and begging to hop up so that he can nuzzle into your neck. Sleep soon follows when Gus is cuddled up in someone's arms.
Gus is medium-high energy but is quite happy being wherever we are and chilling out when it is time. Considering his breed, he will become more energetic as he gets older and lots of exercise and stimulation will be required to keep his intelligent mind active. These pups have been quick learners and would benefit greatly from further training activities to keep them occupied and entertained.
This little cutie has been great with other dogs. He enjoys their company and loves his play time with them. Gus will be looking for a home with another active breed dog. He will not be suited to a home where he will be an only dog as he will become bored and possibly destructive when being left alone for long periods of time. Gus would well suit a mature desexed dog who is still young enough to enjoy the same games as him.
A home with a good sized yard will be needed for Gus to have lots of room to run and explore as he gets older. He will be an active boy so a small yard/unit will not be suitable. He will require regular walks and outings to continue his socialisation. He loves meeting new dogs and people and it will be exciting for him to be out and about and taking on new places and different adventures..
Gus is currently in care with a family with young children. He loves people and will be suited to children of any age. He is only a pup but is very gentle and well behaved.
A family who are happy to invite Gus inside to feel like an important member of the family will be great for him. He is at his happiest when he is getting lots of cuddles and is close to his people. He is learning his manners and is almost toilet trained so will let you know when he needs to go outside.
We will be looking for a home for Gus where he is welcome to sleep inside overnight. His carer has done really well with his crate training and he is happy to go to his crate when it is bed time.
All puppies have had exposure to chooks/ducks/sheep/lambs/cats and while they are very, very good for puppies, they still need further socialisation experiences and training with these animals to learn not to chase. Although none have chased the chooks at all and have been up very close with them, they do have that innate kelpie/puppy rounding up, chasing instinct when the chooks/ducks flap away.
Gus has not met cats but being young he will learn to share a household with them. Understanding the importance of not chasing them would need to be taught from this early age so they can live comfortable and happily share a home together
If you would like to offer Gus a wonderful future please send us an enquiry and we will be in touch shortly.
Gus is currently in care in Haddon (Ballarat), VIC
Medical notes
Gus has been desexed, microchipped and vaccinated.
He has also received regular flea and worm treatment while he has been in our care.
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
