About Patch ~ Husky x Kelpie (On trial 27/7/2017)
Hi my name is Patch or Patchy, I will come to either. I am a 6 month old Husky x kelpie. My foster mum thinks I am pretty cute!
I am not a very big fellow for my age but will grow to be a medium size dog.
I am having lots of fun with my foster family. I am living with my brother, Max, also listed, and two other doggy friends who I love playing with.
I am a bit timid and can be a little shy meeting new people but am getting better every day. I love coming inside with the family and having a sleep on the lounge snuggled up with someone.
My favourite thing to do is to go for a walk. At first I didn’t know how to walk on lead but feel I have it under control now. I would like a walking harness, I don’t really pull as I haven’t got much weight behind me but apparently a harness is better for me. I am great in the car too.
I can sit and come when called, I am trying real hard with the toilet training but I still have a couple of accidents so will need a bit of patience in this area. It would be great if someone could take me to puppy training classes as I am happy to learn new things and haven’t had much exposure to training.
I currently sleep outside on an undercover deck out of the elements with my brother on a cosy bed. I would love a friendly furry friend to be with as I have had my brother as company for all my life and really like to play and cosy up to him.
I would suit a family with children over 5 years old, a young couple or a semi retired couple. It would be nice to be included in family time so would need some hours inside. I don’t muck up inside, I usually just have a snooze.
For more information or to meet Patch, please contact his foster carer Sharron on 0423 331057 or emailsstudley3@bigpond.com. Patch is in foster care in Merewether Hights, NSW and is available for adoption in Newcastle area only.
Patch's adoption fee is $500 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
