About Maya ~ Kelpie x puppy (on trial 30/8/2017)
Maya is a beautiful 3 month old Kelpie x puppy. Maya is the baby of the litter, a little girl who can hold her own. She gets on well with her siblings and is rambunctious in the group. She plays rough and although sweet natured and hungry for people love, she also has a tough, curious streak and will adventure off checking out her surrounds.
Maya will grow up to be a medium sized dog. She has a stunning shiny chocolate coat and unique light green eyes. Despite being a mischievous little puppy, she has a very wise and noble face. Being a Kelpie, she will have a lot of energy and need a good walk, preferably a run off-lead, every day. She is already demonstrating she will be a particularly loyal, smart and alert dog - as a working breed she will be highly trainable and in tune with her owner.
Maya will be happiest in a home with another dog to keep her company, or where someone can be with her most of the time. She would like to find a family who enjoys having their dog be part of all aspects of their life, from weekend outings to cuddling up inside in the evenings. As an active breed, she will need a decent sized yard with good fencing.
Maya gets on well with other dogs. She is going well with toilet training. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
Maya's siblings: Rocco, Layla, Spike and Boof are also available for adoption.
As Maya is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when she's approximately 5-6 months old.
For more information or to meet Maya, please email her foster dad Jack at jacklowe2300@gmail.com. Maya is in care in the Newcastle area, NSW.
Maya's adoption fee is $500 and includes her desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and she's been treated for fleas and worms. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
