About Rocco ~ loving Kelpie x puppy (On Trial 14/8/17)
Rocco is a sweet, 3 month old kelpie x puppy. He is a well mannered, confident but quite mellow little man.
Rocco looks like he may grow to be a medium to large dog. He has benefited from early basic training and is learning that calm behaviours get him the attention he wants. Rocco loves a belly rub! He can sit very well every time he is asked. Rocco will respond fantastically to ongoing training. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.

Rocco gets along with other dogs very well; he is friendly, learning how to play and will retreat when things get a bit too much! He sleeps in his kennel outside and loves his own little space. Rocco is a very sweet dog and will make a great companion dog. He has been with at least one other dog in his life so far; he may fret a little when left alone but is learning and getting used to this and tends to go into his kennel for comfort. As an active breed, he will need a decent sized yard with good fencing.
Rocco will need a family to really include him in their daily activities, work his intelligent mind and smother him in love as he will you!
Rocco's siblings: Layla, Maya, Spike and Boof are also available for adoption.
As Rocco is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's approximately 5-6 months old.
For more information or to meet Rocco, please contact his carer Kirby on 0426 819 061 or email kkelow@gmail.com. Rocco is in care in Belmont, NSW (Lake Macquarie, near Newcastle).
Rocco's adoption fee is $500 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and he's been treated for fleas and worms. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
