About Rusty ~ Jack Russell Terrier (on trial 19/7/2017)
Hi, my name is Rusty. I am an experienced Jack Russell Terrier aged 9 years with a lot of great life skills that the younger generation just don't have these days. My skills include watching you eat, of course I will be secretly hoping that a treat comes my way and thus reducing your food intake. I can help you exercise as I don't mind a walk, encouraging you get out and about. I can warn you when people arrive, it's the least I can do to be your guard dog/ doorbell. But best of all, I can be your lap warmer, I won't jump up until you give me permission, but you will always have a warm lap while I am around.
Digging isn't really my thing and although I haven't come across cats or pocket pets, I don't think they would be my thing either, but my foster carer can tell you more about me.
Like a lot of small dogs, my first reaction is fear but it soon turns to trust. With this in mind, I my foster mum feels I am best suited to a home without small children. I am currently happily living with other dogs but I would enjoy living as an only dog. I am housetrained and I know how to use a doggy door.
I like to play, with other dogs, soft toys or with you, I’m happy either way. I don't look my age and my health is excellent. My foster mum suspects that among my skills I can also be a bed warmer, I’m just currently not being given the chance.
For more information or to meet Rusty, please contact his foster carer Anne on 0428 741 398 or email anne4drn@gmail.com. Rusty is in foster care in Singleton, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Rusty's adoption fee is $200 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
