Seeking calm & loving household for forever home!

Hello, my name is Scooby, and I'm looking for my forever family. It takes a while to build my trust, but once you have it, you'll realise what a complete sweetheart I am. I am currently living with other dogs & with cats in harmony, and I'm happy to be home alone if I have the company of my furry friends... but I do love it when you come home! I also enjoy when my foster parents grandchildren come to visit. They give such lovely pats, and I wouldn't mind being around children as long as they aren't too rambunctious.

I am also very food motivated, so I am quite easy to train! I've learned to wait to be allowed to eat my dinner. I'm still a bit too excited when I get a treat, but I'm still learning! I'm also great off-lead because I don't go too far from you and come back quickly if you call.

Before coming to DBBR, I had a really difficult & scary life. I've learned a lot and have gotten much braver, but loud noises & too much excitement can frighten me. Living with another confident dog will help me feel much braver. Because of this I don't know how comfortable I would be living in a busy & loud household... it would just be too much. I would definitely prefer a calm & quiet home.

Because of my previous mistreatment, I do have some weird quirks, like obsessively chasing flies (it was the only fun I had before!), but I'm learning how to play with other dogs & people. It can take me a while to warm to my people (and I find women easier to meet then men), but once I know you're my person, I love a good cuddle and pat. I just love being near my people.

** Essential Criteria: Scooby was abused before coming to DBBR and has been on the road to recovery. He has come a long way, but he will need someone who is patient with him and understands that he needs special love & attention. **
