Flake

Hi there!
My name is Flake and I’m a young Maremma. I’m looking for my forever home and I’ve been allowed to write my own profile. My foster carers tell me I have to be honest with you, so here goes…
I came to be a part of Best Friends Pet Rescue because I was supposed to be protecting chickens. I got a bit confused and decided to play a bit rough with the chickens one day. That meant I became a part of the Best Friends Pet Rescue family. As a result, my foster family thinks I would be best placed in a home that doesn’t have chickens, in case I get a bit confused again. I do get along really well with cats and other dogs though! I’ve had a lot of exposure to both. Sometimes I forget how big I am and can play a bit rough with smaller dogs. With the correct and gentle reminders though, I quickly remember how to be on my best behaviour with other dogs.
I like sleeping inside and have been very good at learning how to hold on overnight. I also sleep outside sometimes too. I am a really good guard dog at my foster home and I’ve been told I have a really big bark!
My foster carers say I’d be best suited to family home where I can be the guardian of the family. I need a home where I will be included in most day to day activities as I don’t much like spending too much time alone. I don’t need to be a flock guardian as guarding my family will be enough of a job for me. I enjoy going out and about as well as lazing around on the deck catching up on some zzz’s. Some of my favourite activities include going for walks, car rides, exploring, digging and going swimming. I love open spaces but my recall isn’t perfect yet so you’ll need to keep helping me with that one.
I’m a very loving dog and I’m looking for that perfect family that will include me in everything they do.

Oh, and I come desexed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, flea treated and up to date on heartworm prevention. I’m also living in Goulburn, so a meet and greet is required, to make sure we all get along! Send in your applications!!

Flake is located in GOULBURN, a two-hour drive from Sydney. The successful applicant will need to collect her from Goulburn. This pet will come vaccinated, desexed, and microchipped, but council registration - if required in your state or territory - is not included in the adoption fee.
