About Achilles D3608
Hi! I’m Achilles. I’m a real character with loads of cute quirks. I make my carers laugh every day. I’m good natured, gentle and a loving boofer. I have a true Staffy nature and I’m still a pup, really. I’m looking for an active home where I can have lots of love, attention and be part of the family. And I’ll give that love and devotion right back! I’m extra good at keeping my humans company, giving them cuddles and barking if unknown people come to the door. I don’t bark otherwise though :)
Here’s some info from my foster carers:
Achilles’ favourite game at the beach is he will lie on the ground (thinks he's hiding) and when you get close he jumps at you like “surprise”! I've attached a video to show you. That, and he likes to pick up things we have left on the outside table and move them to one particular corner in the yard. He gently lifted a full bottle of wine last week off the table and placed it in his corner. He's a hoarder. He likes to sit on your feet so you can't move. Or lean on the door so you can't get back inside. I went outside the other morning and he was sitting in the pot plant sunbathing. Oh and last night I found him in his bed fast asleep and all tucked up with his bone.
My training is going really well because I love TREATS! I can sit. And now I can wait for my food and we’re working on remembering not to jump up. At the beach or in the hills, I walk off my lead alongside my foster carers! I’m good on the lead too. In the car, once I’m wearing a seatbelt or there’s a barrier in place, I lie down and completely relax or look out the window and think about the adventures we’re about to have, like chasing birds! Yeah!
I usually go straight to my bed inside and lie quietly because I want to be with my carers. But you’ll need to watch out for your slippers, as they’re a special something I find hard to resist sneaking for a bit of a quiet chew ;)
They’ve taught me toilet training in fosterland too. I’m such a quiet boy that I haven’t worked out about crying at the door for you to let me out if it’s closed, so you’ll just have to remember to let me outside if the door isn’t left open.
I have a clamshell pool and it’s so much fun playing in the water! When I’m hot, I like to dig a cool spot in the backyard to lie in. But if you have a home where I’m with you most of the time, that won’t be a problem, will it?
I’m quite strong, and being young, I’m still a bit klutzy too. So I think I’d be better with older children than small ones. I really like playing with other dogs too. I just don’t want to share my Loved Ones at home with any other dogs. Well, I didn’t have much attention in my past life, so now I just love it! I should let you know though, if I’m left alone and ignored, I will make my own fun and chew things. But right now in fosterland, with lots of human company, chew toys and walks, I’m rarely tempted to chew things I shouldn’t.
I was sick recently, but feel great now. SAFE will tell you about that if you’re making an enquiry about me.
