About Basalt
This little pup is just too cute for words!
Basalt is an absolutely adorable little boy. He is gorgeous looking with his four perfect white socks. Basalt is super sweet and loving. He thoroughly enjoys cuddles with his people and likes to give sweet little kisses in return for your pats and cuddles. Basalt enjoys having snuggle time on the lounge with you when its nap time. Otherwise, you can often catch him following his carer around the house or playing with toys such as his ball which he likes to chase. Basalt generally has a calm and gentle demeanor and his sweet personality is bound to put a smile on your face.
During his time in care, Basalt has met doggies of all sizes. He is friends with every dog that he meets though doesn’t like them to be too rough or squish him as he quite small. Basalt enjoys playing with the other dogs and enjoys chasing games. He would benefit from a home where he has the opportunity to make friends and have some play mates to run around with. Despite his small size, Basalt should still be taken out and about for a daily walk so that he remains healthy and happy throughout his life.
Basalt has begun basic training while he has been in care. He responds well to training as he is food motivated and willing to please. Basalt learnt to sit for a treat in his first training session and can walk nicely on a lead. He is also showing that he is good off lead and is learning to come when called. It is very important that his new family are committed to continuing his training as he is just a baby and has lots to learn. Basalt should attend puppy preschool to continue his socialisation with his new owners and would benefit greatly from further training classes. He is progressing with his toilet training and learning to use a puppy pad in the house.
We are looking for a home where Basalt will be a part of the family and included in the daily activities. He will require a home with another friendly and gentle dog and/or where someone is home most of the time. Basalt should be primarily an inside dog due to his small size but will also enjoy exploring the yard. He must have a warm bed inside to sleep on at night and it is expected that he will be able to live harmoniously with other types of pets as well.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
