Adoption information
I've been adopted!
About Mikey *** Mr. Stumpy Legs
********************** Please note. Mikey's adoption fee reflects that he does need firm and consistent training. A family with young children will not be considered ****************
Hi my name is Mikey and I’m a Kelpie X who is about 1 or 2 years old. I am a real challenge. I can be very destructive if not supervised.
Mikey has started his Alpha dog training and is learning to walk well on a head halti and is learning the "language".
Mikey hard mouths and is not suitable in a home with young children.
I’m a smart cookie and have responded well to training from my foster family, but I’ll need my new family to continue my training as I’ve only just started and I need more time to learn. I am easy to walk on the lead, and won’t be difficult to train.
I have a large body but very short legs, which is what makes me so special. If you spend time with me you will quickly fall in love with my beautiful personality.
If you are willing to spend time training me and giving me the love and walks I need, then I will soon develop into the most obedient, incredible companion that I was always meant to be.
I am always very friendly and gentle with other dogs that I meet on my walks. I am also friendly when I meet new humans.
I am still a puppy so I am playful and like to have a number of different toys to play with or I’ll get bored and start chewing something you don’t want me to! I am still learning how to play with humans and sometimes I get a bit excited, so I’m not ready to play with children yet. I am a very gentle natured dog, I just haven’t been trained yet so need practice playing with adults who can teach me how to play gentle with humans.
I have plenty of energy so would suit an owner who can walk me every day as being a Kelpie I need morning and evening exercise. I need to run to tire myself out, so fetch is a great game for me!
Although playful, I’ll also happily laze around when you are resting. I like to follow my family around everywhere they go, I love watching them whilst they clean, cook, and do anything really!
At my foster home I sleep in a crate next to my doggy foster siblings.
I am house trained, however i will try to rummage in the bin and see what food is on the bench when you're not looking. I enjoy travelling in the car, but keep all temptations of things to chew away and give me a toy or a pigs ear instead
He has not had interaction with cats, so we have no idea what he would be like with them.
