About Aurora ~ Schnauzer X (On trial 9/7/17)
Hello, my foster mum asked me to let you know a few things about myself.
• My name is Aurora and I’m a 9 month old miniature Schnauzer x Fluffy Muppet
• I like to help my foster dog sister chase cats but I have been near them before and get along great.
• Great with toilet business I had a nervous wee and poo when I first got her & nothing since.
• I LOVE a cuddle, and I’m very playful with both people and other dogs.
• I LOVE water to the point where I will try to get in the shower with you. Or I’ll just stand in the rain & jump in the puddles.
• I’m great with other dogs and love their company. But like and little kid I’m a bit cautious at first until I know that I’m safe and they aren’t going to hurt me.
• I am not food or bone aggressive even when with other dogs.
• I love going for a walk and I don’t pull on the lead.
• I’m happy to jump in the car and head off on an adventure.
• I love watching mum do the gardening and I often help her but sometimes I accidentally pull out a plant and not a weed. She gets a bit cranky with me for that so I go back to just watching.
Now mum would like to tell you a few things about me.
I have left her home in the backyard for anything from 1- 6 hours and other than getting a mouthful of lip from her when I get home; all was well once I listened to what she had to say; apologised for my absence and gave her a big cuddle.
My neighbours have not complained about her barking while I'm out so I'm assuming she doesn't.
She is still young and therefore still doing puppy things. When left home alone for some time will chew the odd item such as thongs, my sister’s soccer shin pads etc. But anything else; if I'm at home and I see her sussing something out I tell her no that's mine and give her, her toy and she drops it immediately and takes her toy.
She is an incredibly quick learner with so many verbal requests or visual cues. With all the rain I would tell her to wipe her feet each time she came inside and she would sit and wait for me to wipe her feet or roll on her back for me to wipe her feet.
I think she would be best suited to retired couple, single or empty nesters as Aurora loves company and thrives on knowing that you live for her just as much as she lives for you.
Her previous owners were shocked at how well she took to my daughter who is 6yr old but I am a very strict no nonsense mum and because where she lived previously she had nipped "her cousins kid who is out of control, undisciplined and frightening probably hurting Aurora". She has since met my friend’s baby, toddler and child and is absolutely fine with them because she knows that she is safe and will not be hurt.
Aurora being a fluffy Muppet will need regular clipping around every 6 weeks. She is incredibly easy to bath being that she loves water.
She truly is an absolutely beautiful girl, incredibly loving and cuddly baby. When I swaddle her she just lays on her back and falls asleep and really likes me doing the ‘round and round the garden’ nursery rhyme on her tummy. If you have the love to give you cannot go wrong with her. She will put a skip in your step and a warm fuzzy feeling in your heart. She has a beautiful soul and I will dearly miss her when she finds her forever home.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
