There's a song about being totally devoted... surely they were channeling me? For that is the one thing you can categorically count on, from me.

I make no bones about the fact that I live for the attention, affection and inclusion that only you two-legged creatures can provide. I live for you. Whether that's snuggling up in bed together, sharing a cuppa in the afternoon or getting some air into our lungs as we meander through the neighbourhood. I'm there. Right. By. Your. Side.

My dedication is so total that I don't need - and would prefer not to have - another canine friend in the family, but if you do have one they need to be fairly independent with the ability to make allowances for the time I will demand from you.

My need for human company is such that when you do need to leave me alone it's best you place me into my secure little den... otherwise known as a crate. It brings me comfort.

Someone who has retired from the rat-race or a stay at home parent would be right up my alley.
