About Pip **On Trial**
Pip is a young tame female Rainbow Lorikeet with lots of personality and loves to spend most of her time snuggled up under your neck, shoulder or on your head.
She enjoys the company of people and tends not to venture far from you and is also a chatter box, but we quite don’t know what she’s trying to say.
She also tends to mimic laughing, whenever she hears someone laugh she will join in (even if she doesn’t get the joke)
Although Pip is a very sweet girl who loves to snuggle up to people, she hasn’t quite yet got the hang of receiving head scratches or pats and she will let you know about it by vocalising and giving you a little warning nip (though she doesn’t bite hard)
She is learning to step up, but is very independent and likes to call the shots on where she wants to be.
There are a few things she doesn’t enjoy, such as big objects being moved around her, or the rustling of plastic bags.
Overall she has a very sweet nature and would be ideal for someone who it looking for some hands on companionship.
Pip’s age is unknown. She is a little smaller than most adult female Rainbow Lorikeets and her feathers (though in good condition) look a little different which is evidence of being raised on an incorrect diet with her previous family.
Pip is in healthy condition however being raised on an incorrect diet with her former family has meant that her specialised “brush like tongue” (designed to collect nectar) has been worn down, but she still enjoys the offering of native shrubs and flowers for feed on, as well as Lorikeet nectar powder.
Pip does not have her wings clipped at this stage and is able to fly short distances indoors.
Pip has been DNA gender tested (Female) and has also been tested for PBFDV which returned negative.
Medical notes
Brush Tongue worn down (still able to feed normally)
