About Max ~ Husky x Kelpie ( on trial 15/07/16)
Please let me introduce you to Max who is a very handsome 6 month old Husky x Kelpie.
Max loves a good pat and if he can squeeze on your lap for a cuddle, he certainly does appreciate it. He hasn’t had the best past and since being in care has quickly came out of his shell and is adoring lots of love and attention. Max is still a little timid but with time he will be a great addition to someone’s family.
Max is a bright young man and picks things up very quickly especially with treats. He has had no formal training but is quickly learning to sit, stay, look and touch. Max has only just started to walk on lead and enjoys getting out and exploring the world. He will need a walking harness to help him in this area. Max will need to have someone patient with him as he is only new to the whole experience of going for a walk and basic training.
Max would like a furry friend for company as he enjoys playing with another dog and is use to being with his brother. Max is currently sleeping outside under an undercover area which is not exposed to the elements. He is trying very hard in the toilet training department and will need further assistance. He would love to be included in time with the family. Max would suit an active family with children over 10 years old as he tends to jump up on people when excited, a young couple or semi retired couple. He can spend some time just with his doggy friend but would prefer not to be left for long periods of time.
For more information or to meet Max, please contact his foster carer Sharron on 0423 331057 or email sstudley3@bigpond.com. Max is in foster care in Merewether, NSW and is available for adoption interstate. Max's adoption fee is $450 and he will be desexed, is vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
