About Adele
When Adele came into care, we expected her to be palliative. She'd had an aggressive mammary tumour removed and we advised by the sgelter that her prognosis may be poor. We placed her in foster care with a veterinarian, preparing for the worst. Incredibly, this gorgeous girl has surprised us all in the best way possible and is going incredibly well. We are delighted to list her for adoption.
Adele's foster mum tells us that initially she was quite shy and timid but it didn't take long for her to settle in. Now she has settled down and found her place. She loves people and is social with other dogs. Adele has lovely manners and walks well on the lead and doesn't pull. Foster mum Annie even takes her out and says she's really well behaved at cafes and travels well in the car.
Adele just LOVES belly rubs, every time you walk up to her she'll automatically flip onto her back for a pat. She's a very sweet dog with a heart of gold.
Adele was advertised for adoption a few months ago but her profile was taken down as she recovered from surgery. She is now almost ready to go to her new home!
Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside, Jindalee, Browns Plains or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heartworm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
Adele had a mammary adenocarcinoma, an aggressive cancer. It is possible this could return in the future, however we are hopeful it won't. Adele has had an ultrasound, blood tests and fine needle aspirates which have shown that the cancer has not spread.
Adele has recently had surgery to stabilise her luxating patella and has recovered well.
