About Pearl ~ On Trial 28/10/17
Hi I'm Pearl and I'm a 15 month old Mixed Breed. I'm an adorable fluff ball who is loyal and loving once I know you but I can be shy when meeting new people and other dogs at first. I will need some time and patience during meet and greets when I'm choosing my new furever family.
I will need a new family who are confident and experienced with small dogs and the mischief we can get up to. I can climb pool fencing and I'll find any gaps in your fencing to take myself for a walk to find you. I need a home without young children as little kids won't understand my shyness. Older kids or teenagers who are respectful with dogs may be OK.
If you want a quiet lapdog then I'm not the gal for you as I'm a playful and energetic little explorer once I'm comfortable in my surroundings and I've got some energy to burn! So I'll need a good sized yard to run around in and another small doggy friend to play with. I would get too lonely without a doggy friend so a small playmate around my own size is vital for me.
I would suit an active single or couple who will spend a lot of time with me and will focus on positive socialisation in new environments. I'm a happy little bundle of joy that just needs some time put in at the start to build my confidence.
I would benefit from pooch training classes - they would help me bond with my new family and expose me to new dogs, people, sights and sounds. I can get a tad car sick when travelling in the car so I'm better if we go on short trips.
I am primarily an inside dog however I enjoy a grassy yard where I can practice my zoomies. I sleep inside and would love to sleep in your room (on the bed if you are happy to have me keep the bed warm!). If you work from home then I'd love your companionship , or if you can take me to work then I'll enjoy the positive socialisation that that would bring.
I will need to be clipped every few months to keep me looking beautiful - I was just recently clipped and I was such a well-mannered girl at the groomers!

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
