About Harley ~ Cavalier x Cattle (On trial 7/7/17)
Hello I’m Harley, a 5 year old Cavalier x Red Cattle boy looking for a new home.
I am a very quiet dog with a loving nature, and I want to kiss and hug you when you come home. I know basic commands and am great on a lead. I prefer to walk fast. I love being active and playing with other dogs, and am very friendly. I am also great around cats. I am fine with older kids that are confident around dogs.
I would not be good with really young kids as I don't like to be climbed all over and yelling combined with and hand/arm flapping scare me. My biggest enemy are storms but I'm fine if someone is with me inside or outside during them. My foster mum was told a thunder shirt might help me. Sometimes I get car sick so it is best if I sit on a towel or blanket when travelling.
Currently I am spending my time being outside during the sunny days, and inside at night and on rainy days. I live with a mature couple who work part-time and have no other pets. As I am not a jumper, digger or nuisance barker, I don’t annoy the neighbours. I weigh only 13 kg so I can come in and out through the dog door by myself, as I am fully house-trained. I am not an over-eater, and am quite well-mannered at meal-time.
For further information please contactkathyjones1961@hotmail.com, or text only 0409319877 as calls cannot be taken at work. Harley is in foster care in Lambton (Newcastle), NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Harley's adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
