Got a couch to share?

Tallis is a lovely natured boy who is as loyal as they come. He is a true companion dog who would love someone to hang out with. Tallis is always happy to see you and gets a big smile on his face when you come home, complete with a waggy tail. He loves pats and especially tummy rubs. Tallis is more than happy to hop up on the couch with you in the evenings to watch TV and have a nap. He enjoys being next to you and will even fall asleep in your lap if you let him.

Don’t let that bit of grey around his muzzle fool you – Tallis has plenty of life left in him. He is relatively active for his age and LOVES going on a daily walk. In fact, when you pick up the lead he runs straight to the front door and bounces up and down in excitement. Tallis walks beautifully on the lead while wearing a halti and will then only stop at things to smell when you let him.

Tallis also enjoys running around the yard during the day, rolling in the grass and lying in the sun. He is not a barker unless there is someone around the house or yard who shouldn’t be there. Tallis is also keen on car rides and sticking his head out the window to feel the breeze on his face. He has no problems springing up into the car and travels well. Tallis can sit on command and shake as well. He has grown up with children and has good manners around them.

Tallis has lived his life with minimal dog socialisation which means that he is comfortable with being an only dog. He has been friendly with the dogs he has met while in care, though is not keen on those who are too boisterous or in his face which can’t be blamed as he is an older gentleman. Tallis would suit a home where he is the only dog and the centre of attention, or where there is another calm dog that he can hang out with as well.

We are looking for a home where Tallis will be a part of the family. He should be allowed inside to be with the family and MUST have a warm comfy bed inside to sleep on at night out of the weather.
You won’t find a nicer dog. Tallis will treat you like you are the best thing in his world and is looking for someone to give him lots of love and attention in return for his loyalty.
