About Kira ~ Great Dane X (on trial 8/8/17)
Meet Kira, a 4.5 year old Great Dane X who is looking for her forever home. If you love dogs that are big and people loving, then Kira is your girl.
Kira responds very well to positive reinforcement training. She already knows “sit” and her foster mum is working on “stay”. She is house-trained, travels well in the car and is great on the lead.
Kira can be timid at first when meeting new people but soon she warms up to them, especially when offered a lot of pats. She would however prefer to be an only dog as she can be nervous around other dogs (especially the smaller ones).
Kira is very well behaved inside and would spend all her time inside if she could. When you let her in she might even try hopping on the couch to have a chat as she is a quite talkative dog. Kira is not a digger and she currently sleeps inside. She loves children but would be best suited with children over the age of 10 as she can sometimes be too energetic for them. Kira isn't a nuisance barker but she will let you know how excited she is when you come home from work.
Kira loves human company and is dreaming of a home where she could be part of the family. She is a beautiful dog with the most endearing nature.
For more information or to meet Kira, please contact her foster carers Kylie and Indy on 0408536812 (text only) or email indy0six@gmail.com. Kira is in foster care in Macquarie Hills, NSW and is available for adoption interstate. Kira's adoption fee is $350 and she is vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
