About Maisie ~ 12mo Border Collie girl (On trial 14/7/17
Meet the very energetic and gorgeous Maisie! - a 12 month old, female, Pure Bred Border Collie girl.
Maisie loves swimming, the beach, playing ball and running. In her quiet time she enjoys sitting with you and snuggling. Being a working breed, Maisie will need a very active owner that will do more with her than just simply taking her for a walk - preferably a run or swim and lots of ball throwing too.
Maisie needs a lot of stimulation and would benefit from ongoing training (possibly agility) as she is very smart. She is learning commands quickly - sit, wait, come, etc. Maisie is a fast learner and she responds well to food rewards during training. She is still learning on the lead as she does pull due to excitement.
Maisie is currently living with 2 toddlers, a newborn and with a 12 week old Kelpie x and a 3yr blue heeler. She gets along great with other dogs, but is also happy doing her own thing. She is gentle with the toddlers who she is currently living with, but would probably suit kids a little older due to her energy levels as children 7 years and up would be more confident around her. She hasn’t met cats or pocket pets so we are not sure how she would go with them.
Maisie currently sleeps in a big kennel outside and is toilet trained if inside. Maisie was surrendered to DRN through no fault of her own - she was just too energetic for the family who previously owned her. She must go to an active family/person or rural home with good secure fencing.
Maisie will be a great companion and a wonderful addition to her forever family.
For more information or to meet Maisie, please contact her foster mum Rebecca on 0413 738 626 or email becca.tw@hotmail.com. Maisie is located in Mayfield, NSW (Newcastle area) and is available for adoption interstate.
Maisie's adoption fee is $500 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
