About Boris ~ friendly Wolfhound x puppy (Trial 30/6/17)
Boris is an 11 week old, male, brindle Wolfhound x puppy. Since coming into care Boris has shown himself to be a kind, cuddly pup who loves being around people. He loves spending time in the yard keeping his foster family company while they play and do yardwork.
Boris is a very healthy little puppy who has been raised in a home environment. He has been very well socialised with other puppies and adult dogs (small and large) and gets along well with them all. He's met lots of people and is friendly and affectionate with them. Boris is in care with cats and has not shown any interest in them.
Boris will grow up to be a large dog. He is responding very well to training and is learning to walk on a lead and sit. He is a fast learner and would love for his new family to take him to puppy preschool so he can learn even more. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
Boris has an older doggie foster sister who he adores and he would do well if his forever home had another dog as a playmate and companion for him. Boris's ideal family will have lots of time to spend with him. He will need to be allowed to come inside and be a part of family life. Boris will need regular exercise to help use all his puppy energy and will love learning new games.
Boris needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. He currently sleeps inside at night with his brother and settles well at bedtime. He will be wonderful family dog and is suitable for children 8 years and older. You need good fencing with no small gaps. He can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
Boris's brother Boston is also available for adoption.
As Boris is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to meet Boris, please phone his foster mum Fiona on 0408 295 137 or email fiona.hopping@uon.edu.au. Boris is in Singleton, NSW (west of Newcastle) and meet and greets will need to be in Singleton.
Boris's adoption fee is $500 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and he's been treated for fleas and worms. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
