Jessie

Jessie is an adorable short-haired Border Collie cross. She is a lovely silvery-grey and white colour (that sometimes looks more charcoal and sometimes you can even see the brown/red tones shining through). Jessie could be as old as three but her foster mum and dad think she might be as young as 18 months old because she has beautiful shiny white teeth, a skinny adolescent-type figure and puppy playfulness.
Jessie is a happy and very snuggly doggie and she is quickly learning that life can be pretty good. She is a smart dog and has adjusted to her new foster home and living with two foster fur-sisters (3.5 and 13 year old dogs). She loves playing chase me-chase you games and also has a great time playing with lots of different dog toys but really likes the chewy-rubbery types of toys, balls and deer antlers.
Jessie is still quite young so she is still learning how to remember her manners when she gets excited. She is a good dog when out on walks and is quickly getting better at walking on lead without pulling. Mostly she ‘talks’ a lot when she sees other dogs or people she wants to meet but can be easily settled with some verbal reassurance and then some pats and praise once she has quietened down. Like many working dogs, she loves to please so she is a fun dog to work with and she likes learning new skills / tricks. She would be a great agility dog as she is very nimble. Jessie is crate trained and will happily sleep in the crate or nap on one of the doggie beds.
Jessie has not yet met any cats while in foster care, so slow introductions would be required for families with resident cats. She is very excited to meet other dogs and on first introductions seems to be more comfortable with medium to larger dogs than smaller ones. She has not been tested with livestock or chickens and is not suited to a home with children.
Jessie would love a home where she is part of the family and can snuggle into her humans and share lots of cuddles and interaction.
