About Granola (Granny) - Free to Adopt!
Are you the incredibly special person we have been waiting for, who can offer a retirement home to our beautiful senior kitty Granola?
Who could surrender a cat of this age to the ranger, leaving her alone in the pound? We don’t know, but that is just what happened to this poor sweet girl. She was disorientated and confused when she arrived in our care and wants nothing more than a warm lap to lay on for however long she has left in this world.
Granola is in remarkably good health for a mature cat. She has no signs of chronic illness at this time (though her new family needs to know that she could sadly deteriorate quickly at her age). She is stiff and sore and needs a warm home where most of the things she needs will be kept on one level as she isn’t able to jump or climb.
Granola may be happy to live in a home with other cats as long as they leave her alone most of the time and don’t want to play! She isn’t overly keen on dogs but a calm, quiet and respectful canine may be acceptable to her ladyship.
Mostly, she deserves to be loved. It seems that she has been well cared for so far and perhaps her owner has passed away or gone into a nursing home. We don’t know, but we do know that the rest of her life should be awesome.
This old duck can be a bit fussy with her food so be prepared to become a personal chef in your spare time. But again, she’s earned it!
Granola does have some plaque build-up on her teeth and mild to moderate gingivitis (inflammation of the gums). However, putting her under anaesthetic to clean her teeth is a high risk that we aren’t wanting to take at this time. We know that she CAN eat pretty much anything so it doesn’t seem that her occasional pickiness with food is due to her teeth.
If you can be Granny’s hero, please chat to us about her today!
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
