About Jazzy ~ Jack Russell Terrier (on trial 26/06/17)
Jazzy is an 8 year old Jack Russell terrier. She is a beautiful little girl (just 6.5kg) and a real character with all of the classic JR traits – very energetic, chases anything that moves (loves hunting for wriggly lizards in the garden), loves to play kong ball with her humans, and will try her hardest to find you if you go out and leave her behind!
Jazzy hasn’t been trained to do much, but she can sit beautifully on her hind legs to beg, and will roll onto her back for a tummy rub which she loves. I am teaching her to use the doggy door to come and go – she’s just about got that sorted. She loves being outdoors in the sunshine, but sleeps inside at night mostly in her bed by the fire but sometimes on the lounge! I am also training her to come to my whistle, and she is pretty good at that after just a few weeks. She is house trained, and appears very healthy and active.
Early morning walks are expected – she waits by the front door to tell you “it’s time” – Jazzy walks very well on a lead / harness, and is also well-behaved in the car (after the initial excitement!).
Jazzy currently lives with my three older Jack Russells – she gets along with the seniors without too much fuss, but is a bit bossy, and would probably prefer to be the centre of attention as the only dog in the house. I’m not sure how she would go with cats, chooks and pocket pets, but I probably wouldn’t try! She is also untried with children – like most JRs she can be a tad “jumpy” at times, and some kids might be scared by that.
She has become very attached to me, and really doesn’t like to be left behind when I leave the house. She tells me that she would like a new home where her humans are around for most of the time – in the meantime, she needs training to deal with separation from her humans!
Jazzy is a gorgeous little girl, very affectionate and fun to have around. She will need a very secure yard.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
