About Wilbur ~ Boxer x Mastiff (on trial 21/9/17)
Meet Wilbur! Wilbur is a very lovable, sweet natured, 14 month old Boxer x Mastiff boy who loves cuddles. His cute smile and constantly wagging tail will melt your heart.
Wilbur can sit and lay down on command, he hasn’t quite mastered the game of fetch but he loves a run or even just a casual walk. He is toilet trained and sleeps inside. He is very calm and knows which bed is his and is very good in the house. He is very laid back for such a young dog. Wilbur is well behaved in the car.
Wilbur loves dogs of all sizes and is very submissive so he gets along great with other dogs. He has not been tested with cats or pocket pets. He would make a great addition to any family or any person looking for a loving companion. Although gentle, due to his size and love of licking he may not be suited to small children.
Wilbur would need a home with a doggy friend to keep him company throughout the day so he does not get lonely. Being a young boy dragging his blanket or bed and finding the odd shoe for a toy is fun. He will need good fences and secured gates.
He is not a barker unless he is alerting you to something. He has welcomed some visitors with a standing hug but this is being discouraged because of his size.
For more information or to meet Wilbur, please contact his foster carer Jodi via email at jodideamer@gmail.com. Wilbur is in foster care in Port Stephens, NSW (north of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Wilbur’s adoption fee is $350 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
