About Farrah ~ Kelpie x Labrador (On trial 16/8/2017)
Introducing the gorgeous Farrah Foster! This beautiful blonde is a Kelpie cross Labrador (we think) and is under 1 year old. Farrah is a tall girl with lots of energy and the biggest smile.
Farrah was rescued from the pound and is going to need an experienced doggie family to give her an express course in all the things she has missed up till now. Adolescent puppy classes will be a must along with good manners training and lots of patience as she learns how to be part of a loving family. Her high energy and goofy antics mean she will not be suitable for children under 10. If all that sounds doable, what you will get in return is a loving and loyal girl who desperately wants to be loved in a home of her own where she can feel safe and secure.
Farrah will need minimum 5ft colorbond fencing, a good size yard to play and lots of regular exercise. She has the potential to be a running companion with a bit of training. She is learning how to be an inside dog at night and would really like to be allowed to sleep inside. She is currently in care with another similar sized dog. She was a bit wary at first but is now very happy to play with her foster sister. It does not appear that anyone has showed her what toys are for but she has shown great potential for food reward training.
Farrah will be desexed and vaccinated whilst in care, so will be available for distance adoption. She is currently located in Port Stephens north of Newcastle. If you would like to apply to adopt Farrah or would like more information, please contact Lauren at hitthesand@hotmail.com.
Farrah's adoption fee is $450 and she will be desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
