About Poppy
How would you like to love a little girl with a big personality? I’m four kilos of love and fun! Hi I’m Poppy. I love a game of fetch, cuddles on the couch and being a lap dog.
I’m good at staying on my bed if asked, fully toilet trained and crate trained at night. I know how to respect boundaries in my new house and I’m good about travelling in my car crate. I know how to sit, drop and stay but I prefer to play. I’ll come if you call me – mostly! I can get distracted from time to time so foster mum says no off lead in public for me just yet. Oh well!
I’m looking for a family who is often home as I don’t like being on my own a lot, though I will hang out in my new yard when you go out but I’ll want to be your little shadow when you’re around. I can get nervous if roughed up so no little kids please. I would like a doggy sibling who is bigger than me, calm and mature, but not one who would get in my face or try to force me to play. I also don’t mind cats.
I know I sound perfect – and I admit I am pretty close – but I don’t like to be on my own, so please give me a friend for when you’re not home. Sometimes I like the sound of my own voice. Sometimes I get overexcited when I greet you and I spin in circles, although I have learned not to jump. I can be dominant towards little dogs in a way that I don’t do with bigger dogs.
Foster mum says I’m very cunning and will push the rules if allowed to - give me an inch and I’ll take a mile – I don’t know what she means! She says you should be someone who can be firm but loving with me, just cause I’m little doesn’t mean I won’t take advantage of you.
I’m desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and heartworm treated. I have two dislocating patellas that don’t bother me and I take a supplement in my meals to help them stay strong. Maybe they will need fixing one day but the vet thinks that won’t happen if I eat my supplements.
Please come find me I’m waiting for you.
Medical notes
Poppy has two dislocating patellas that don't seem to bother her much and she takes a daily supplement to help strengthen them. Our vet has advised that surgery on them might be necessary one day but it is not likely if she is kept on the daily supplement, so this would be an ongoing requirement.
