About Breeze ~ 2.5yo Staffy x girl (On trial 8/7/17)
Meet the Jane Fonda of the dog world, Breeze! She is a gentle 2.5 year old Staffy x girl. Super fit, easy Breezy has a beautifully defined physique and her chiselled muscles along with her glossy, short coat and sweet face make her a really good locking dog that will definitely impress.
Breeze is a very easy dog to care for as she is very calm, friendly and cuddly and enjoys human interaction very much. She oozes love and has a lot to give! She would be a fantastic family dog as she is terrific with kids of all ages and is friendly to other dogs and because of her placid nature, most likely would not be fazed by cats or other animals (however she has not been thoroughly tested with cats and pocket pets yet). She is a dog who adapts well to her surroundings so she could be an only dog as long as she gets lots of attention.
Breeze is used to being an outside dog but enjoys company and would love nothing more than cuddling up to you, at your feet, beside you, on you! Breeze might tend to shadow her owner a bit but not in an excessive, annoying way; she just likes to know what you’re up to and to ‘stick’ close to her humans.
Walking Breeze is a pleasure as although she is quite strong, she only pulls a bit at the start of a walk due to excitement and then quickly settles in to a nice pace beside you. She does like to say hello to passers by whether they be humans or other dogs but is quickly back by your side. She will come when called. If she wanders off a little, it’s always within eyesight and she constantly ‘checks in’ with you. I believe this is her seeking a little reassurance. She enjoys her walks very much but would not necessarily need long walks; just to get out and about once a day and is then content to spend the day laying in the sun or hanging with you.
She enjoys meeting and playing with other friendly dogs. However, she can get a little intimidated at times (with a really dominant dog or in busy areas) and will either retreat or look to her humans for support.
Breeze can sit very well and is learning to stay. She is easy to train and highly food motivated. However, she does have a tendency to jump up at mealtimes due to her excitement, though reinforcing ‘the sit’ is simple.
Easy Breezy would be a perfect family or companion dog with very little effort required for her daily regime. Sometimes her appearance can give people the wrong impression but she deserves a closer look as nothing could be further from the truth for this beautiful placid creature, who has so much love to give.
For more information or to meet Breeze, please contact her foster carer Kirby on 0426 819 061 or email kkelow@gmail.com. Breeze is located in the Lake Macquarie area, NSW (south of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Breeze's adoption fee is $350 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
