About Tommy
Tommy is a very striking pure-bred miniature Phantom poodle. He has been surrendered to MDR because his owner is unwell and no longer able to give him the attention he needs.
Tommy is great around other dogs and we would prefer that he be re-homed with another dog for company and to play games with. Not all dog owners and lovers of dogs understand poodles so we are looking for someone who perhaps already has a poodle or is very knowledgeable of this breed.
He will need a secure yard (preferably colourbond fencing) so that he can happily run around and play in. He needs to be walked daily and be able to socialise with other dogs if possible.
Tommy has had his beautiful coat tidied up by our dog groomer and it needs to be kept under control with frequent clipping (particularly around the face and bottom). Weekly brushing also helps to keep the coat clean when it is too cold for bathing.
Tommy is a typical poodle in that he loves his human company and must be allowed access inside the home 24 hours a day, sleep inside and be an integral part of his new family. He really would love to be able to share the lounge with his new owner, but he also likes his space when it suits him.
He is a very active boy (not yet 2 years old) so would need someone who is prepared to walk him every day enabling him to get his mind and body working together.
Tommy is already well trained and is very smart (aren't all poodles?), loves his walks and would benefit from a well-fitting harness to keep him focused.
MDR is now accepting applications to adopt this beautiful boy. Should you have any questions regarding our gorgeous Tommy, please contact Wendy on 02 6584 7027.
Medical notes
Tommy has been health checked by our vet.
Adoption details
The first step is to phone or email Midcoast Dog Rescue Inc. for assessment regarding prospective ownership and pet suitability.
Adoption Application forms must be completed.
A property inspection will be carried out on properties in the Port Macquarie area so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you’ve selected. Proof of home ownership will be required. If renting your home, a letter from the owner’s agent confirming that the pet is allowed will be required.
A 2 week trial period commences on the day of adoption. If, for any reason, the dog is returned to Midcoast Dog Rescue within the trial period, the total adoption fee paid will be refunded.
All Midcoast Dog Rescue animals come desexed, microchipped, vaccinated (up to date), vet checked ,wormed, flea and tick treated.
.......................
Midcoast Dog Rescue Inc. is trying to expand its foster carer network so that we can help more dogs in need. This is a very rewarding experience and suits a variety of people. Some people, for whatever reason, are unable to make a permanent commitment to a dog, a commitment which can last for up to 15 years. Others use the fostering experience as an interim measure before committing to permanently owning a dog. If you think you could be interested in becoming a foster carer, either on a long-term or a short-term basis, and would like more information please contact Nigel on 6584 4992 or Wendy on 6584 7027.
